For the 2009 season, there were 3,512 bear and 308,920 deer taken statewide. The record for black bear was 4,164 in 2005 and for white-tailed deer, the record was set in 2002 with 517,529.

Regarding the 1999 small game harvest in Pennsylvania, 715,862 cottontails (down from 911,003 in 1998 and a high of 2,137,737 in 1985); 2,412 snowshoe hares (down from a high of 14,412 in 1987); and 1,236,108 squirrels were taken (down from a high of 2,833,061 in 1986).
The 1999-2000 was the first bobcat season in PA, with a harvest of 58.
The agency has established a limited fisher season in 2010. The number of fishers caught incidentally and released by trappers has increased dramatically during recent years. Prior to 2002, less than 100 were caught incidentally, whereas during the 2008- 09 season an estimated 1,893 were caught and released.
The statewide estimate for black bears in 2008 is 15,000 and 1.4 million deer.
An Elk season was introduced in 2001, with the following total harvest data by year:
